What is Corporate Real Estate?
There is often confusion between the concept of commercial real estate and corporate real estate. Here’s a simple explanation of the difference: In commercial real estate the goal is to acquire property that will provide a return for investors. Properties are bought, sold, and managed with the goal of making a profit. In corporate real estate the property is acquired to support the business. Whether it is being leased or purchased the goal is not to profit from the real estate transaction but rather to utilize the real estate to make the business more profitable. In other words, commercial real estate is the investor side of the business and corporate real estate is the occupier side of the business.
